An eternity ring, also known as an infinity ring or an anniversary ring was traditionally a continuous line of diamonds or coloured stones that went right around the finger to symbolise never-ending love. From mid twentieth century the eternal ring of diamonds was diluted with the introduction of the half-eternity ring as a cost option or as a way to get all the 'bling' on show by setting all of the diamonds in the top of the ring. Originally worn on the right hand as a statement piece, they have in the last century been worn between engagement ring and wedding ring.
